Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, is a 42-acre museum, sculpture garden, and arboretum founded by the artist Seward Johnson on the former grounds of the New Jersey State Fair.

There are four dining options in the park, although Rat’s Restaurant is my clear favorite. Named for The Wind in the Willows character, it serves French country cuisine in a building that looks like it came out of an impressionist painting.

If you’re lucky enough to snag an outdoor table, you’ll be rewarded with a magnificent view
that resembles the Japanese Bridge painting of Claude Monet.
The drinks: cucumber-lime fresca and peach-ginger fuzz
What we ate: Seared Crab Cake with Quinoa and Dill-Yogurt Sauce
Turkey Croissant with Dill Aioli
Roasted Cauliflower with Marcona Almonds and Black Garlic
